I have helped about 10 people get fully setup on the Google Cloud at levels beyond what most understand. All learned on their own PCs or Macs, and all saw my Chromebook at some point in the process.
I helped 2 of those people buy chromebooks directly. I actually ordered them for them. They had no issues.
Five them decided to buy chromebooks after I had them up on their PC or Mac.
They knew I had bought many but they assumed they were smart enough to just "go buy one" without consulting with me.
Three of those actually asked me what I'd suggest.
I gave them links to the machines they needed to buy and gave them warnings about the problems with the other machines and the eMMC drives
Three of them IGNORED my suggestions and bought pretty machines from stores local to them instead of ordering the machines online from Amazon that i had custom picked out.
It seems they figured I was being too picky on the drive specification issue even after I told them it was slow.
It seems many really wanted to buy local. They haven't gotten the hang of buying expensive electronics online
I had to help all three of them repackage and return their machines and buy new ones.
Two of them just kept the dog machines and one guy then went out and bought a PC when all he needed was a faster chromebook
This is how hard it is to get folks proper hardware...
